NHJSSC Junior Benefit Hack Scholarship Class Description: Benefit Hack Class – Open to all rider s (professionals, amateurs, juniors, seniors). To be judged 50% on the horse and 50% on the rider. All entry fees ($5.00) will be donated to a NHJSSC scholarship fund to be awarded annually at the Year-end Awards Banquet to a senior in High School. Eligible High School seniors must be in high school on January 2nd of the current year and submit a copy of their grades to the NHJSSC Board of Directors by November 1st of the current show year. Emphasis will be placed on academics, horsemanship and participation in NHJSSC shows. Year-end awards will be awarded to the top six (6) horses and rider combinations in this class.To Be Considered for the Scholarship/Requirements: One (1) scholarship (amount to be determined by the board until a sufficient fund is established) will be reward to a senior participant who demonstrates excellence in school, horsemanship, and extra curricular activities. To be considered for the scholarship, the senior must participate in at least 6 NHJSSC horse shows of the current year, and must be enrolled in high school on January 2nd of the current show season. To be considered for the scholarship the participant must submit a copy of their last report card, a list of horse achievements (can be a list of year-end awards, etc.), a list of other achievements (i.e. community service, organizational activities, etc.), and two letters of recommendation from either a teacher, mentor, and/or trainer.
