2011 NHJSSC Standardized Prize List
Section I Equitation Divisions
Academy Equitation Open to very beginner riders in their first two years of showing. The Academy Division consists of 4 classes. 1. Academy Walk/Trot 2. Academy Walk/Trot/Canter 3. Academy Ground Poles 4. Academy Micro x-rails Fences not to exceed 12.
Beginner Equitation- Open to Junior and Amateur riders in their first two years of showing. Fences not to exceed 18. Flat classes to be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both directions of the ring. No hand galloping. Riders may not cross enter into Intermediate orAdvance equitation at the same show. Riders are not eligible for the NHJSSC medal s.
Intermediate Equitation- Open to Junior and Amateur riders. Fences not to exceed 26. Flat classes to be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both directions of the ring. Entries may be asked to hand gallop. Riders may not cross enter into Beginner Equitation.
NHJSSC Medal & NHJSSC Mini Medal (qualifier class) - Open to Junior and Amateur riders. Fences not to exceed 3 for NHJSSC Medal and 26 for the Mini Medal . The winning coach of the NHJSSC Medal and NHJSSC Mini Medal will receive $50 as atrainers incentive. At the judges discretion, the top 4 riders may be asked to test. For the show year riders will need to qualify for a year-endfinal. Participants will ride to qualify for this Medal Final to be held at a predetermined location. To qualify a rider must win one (1) classthroughout the show season (January through October of the current year) or accumulate 12 total points throughout the current showseason. Once the rider qualifies they are no longer required to compete until the Medal Finals.
Benefit Hack Class Open to all riders (professionals, amateurs, juniors, seniors). To be judged 50% on the horse and 50% on the rider. All entry fees ($5.00) will be donated to a NHJSSC Scholarship Fund to be awarded annually at the Year-end Awards Banquet to a senior in High School. Eligible High School seniors must be in high school on January 2nd of the current year, submit a copy of their grades, extra curricular activities, and two letters of recommendation to the NHJSSC Board of Directors by October 31st of the current show year. Riders must also show in 51% (6) or more of the 10 shows offered during the current show season. Emphasis will be placed on academics, horsemanship, and participation in NHJSSC shows. NHJSSC Year-end awards will be awarded to the top six (6) horses and rider combinations in this class.
Section II Hunter Divisions
Beginner Hunter/Rider 18- Open to beginner riders and/or horses/ponies. Fences not to exceed 18. Under saddle class to be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both directions of the ring. No hand galloping. Horse/Riders combination may not cross enter into anyother division that requires them to jump fences higher than 2 3 at the same show.
Novice Children/Adult Hunter 2- Open to Junior and Amateur riders on horses and ponies. Fences not to exceed 2. Under saddle class to be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both directions of the ring. No hand galloping. Horse/Riders combination may not cross enterinto any other division that requires them to jump fences over 2 6 at the same show.
Limit Hunter/Rider 2 3- Open to all Junior and Amateur riders on horses and ponies. Fences not to exceed 2 3. Under saddle class to be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both directions of the ring. No hand galloping. Horse/Riders combination may not cross enterinto any other division that requires them to jump fences over 2 9 at the same show.
Nebraska Hunter 2 6 Open to all riders on horses and ponies. Fences not to exceed 2 6. Under saddle class to be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both directions of the ring. Entries may be required to show at a hand gallop.
Low Hunter 2 9 - Open to all riders on horses and ponies. Fences not to exceed 2 9. Under saddle class to be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both directions of the ring. Entries may be required to show at a hand gallop.
Open Hunter 3 - Open to all riders on horses and ponies. Fences not to exceed 3. Under saddle class to be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both directions of the ring. Entries may be required to show at a hand gallop.
Section III Optional Class Listings
Hosting barns can opt to use, and are encouraged to use, any or all the divisions listed on the Option Class List if time allows at their show(s) and if enough interest is shown in these higher divisions. Year-End awards will be awarded to the top six (6) riders in these divisions.
Advance Equitation- Open to Junior and Amateur riders. Fences not to exceed 3. Flat classes to be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both directions of the ring. Entries may be required to show at a hand gallop. Riders may not cross enter into Beginner Equitation.
Baby Green Hunter 2 2 3- Open to all riders. Horses and ponies must be in their first two (2) years of showing. Fences not to exceed 2 to 2 3. Under saddle class to be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both directions of the ring. Entries may be required to hand gallop.
Non-Pro Hunter 2 6- Open to Junior and Amateur riders on horses and ponies. Fences not to exceed 2 6. Under saddle class to be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both directions of the ring. Entries may be required to show at a hand gallop.
Pony Hunter 2-23- Open to Junior and Amateur riders on ponies. Fences not to exceed 23. Ponies height not to exceed 14.2 Hands. All ponies subject to measurement if requested and approved by the judge. A model class can be included at show managements discretion and one O/F class can be a 25% conformation class where ponies are required to jog for soundness. Suitability of rider to mount will count. Under Saddle to be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both directions of the ring. Entries may be required to hand gallop.
NHJSSC Hunter Classic 2 6 Open to all riders on horses and ponies. Fences not to exceed 2 6. No Under Saddle. Hosting barns may choose to do a 20% add back (prize money). Class Fee $10.00. One trip (scored) or come up with an additional prize.
Modified Hunter 3 3 Open to all riders on horses and ponies. Fences not to exceed 3 3. Under Saddle to be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both directions of the ring. Entries may be required to hand gallop.
Working Hunter 3 6 Open to all riders on horses and ponies. Fences not to exceed 3 6. Under Saddle to be shown at a walk, trot and canter both directions of the ring. Entries may be required to hand gallop.
Level 0 Jumpers 2 6- Fences not to exceed 26. Each individual show may have as many classes per jumper division. Show management may also designate the rules/guidelines of each class (US Equestrian Federation rules apply unless otherwise stated).
